Cognigen scientists Beth Ludwig, Qiang Lu, Jill Fiedler-Kelly, and Ted Grasela attended the 2009 Annual Meeting of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS), November 8 to 12, 2009, in Los Angeles, California. Fiedler-Kelly moderated a roundtable Wednesday morning called Facilitating the Transition to Model-based Drug Development. During this roundtable, Grasela presented “Engineering the Pharmacometrics Enterprise: Science in Support of Science,” in which he discussed the following topics: What are the key components of the pharmacometrics enterprise?; How do we move from model-supported drug development to model-based drug development?; and What can be done to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of pharmacometrics? Grasela also presented “So Many Interesting Problems: Turbo-charge Your Career at a CRO,” which was part of a Tuesday afternoon student and postdoc roundtable called Paths Less Traveled: Opportunities for Pharmaceutical Scientists Beyond Industry and Academia.
