Ted Grasela Lectures at Yale

Ted Grasela, president and CEO of Cognigen Corporation, presented The Changing Drug Development Paradigm and Implications for Pharmacoepidemiology at Yale University on April 9, 2009. Ted discussed the profound shift in drug development strategies that are now underway in the pharmaceutical industry. This shift comes amid recognition of the declining productivity of the pharmaceutical industry, the rising costs of research and development, concerns about the human and financial implications of late stage failures of development programs, and the societal implications of the rising costs of new medicines. Ted’s guest lecture was part of the course Introduction to Pharmacoepidemiology, which is offered by the Yale School of Public Health. The course director is Michael B. Bracken, who is the Susan Dwight Bliss Professor of Epidemiology.
