(apologies for duplicate postings)

Metrum Institute is pleased to announce the 2008 offering of our
popular training series in population PK-PD modeling. Both of these
courses (MI210, MI212) are offered as live web-cast training
sessions, with hands-on practice problems and weekly lab sessions.
These courses include example code, scripts and datasets, including
extensive use of Metrum Institute's R package, NMTools, for managing
NONMEM® runs and post-processing. For detailed course information,
and to register, please see: http://metruminstitute.org/training/

MI210-W
Essentials of Population PKPD Modeling & Simulation
March 18-June 13, 2008 webcast
MI210 provides an extensive overview of essential topics in
population pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, including:
• nonlinear-mixed effects modeling theory and implementation
• data formatting requirements
• population model development
• model evaluation techniques
• continuous PKPD models
• monte carlo simulation
• best practices
Instruction combines didactic lectures with hands-on exercises using
R and the NONMEM® software.
Prerequisites:
Basic understanding of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic
principles, compartmental pharmacokinetic models, introductory
statistics, familiarity with the R or S language. Other applicable MI =

Courses include: MI120, MI101, MI201.

MI212-W
Advanced Topics in Population PK-PD Modeling & Simulation
Sept. 9-Dec. 12, 2008 webcast
MI212 extends the material inititated in MI210 including a detailed
overview of advanced topics in population pharmacokinetics and
pharmacodynamics:
• inter-occasion variability
• mixture models
• truncated continuous data (BQL)
• nonlinear-pharmacokinetic models
• models for parent & metabolite plasma and urine data
• indirect-response pharmacodynamic models
• models for tolerance, precursor pools and other complex systems
• disease progression models
• population PK study design
• clinical trial simulation
Instruction combines didactic lectures with hands-on exercises using
R and the NONMEM® software.
Prerequisites:
MI210 and related prerequisites.

NONMEM® is licensed and distributed by ICON Development Solutions.
