Under the direction of the head of Quantitative Clinical Pharmacology
(QCP), the incumbent will assist with the design and execution of
clinical PK/PD and population PK/PD studies, including study design,
placement, monitoring and concern for the protection of human subjects
participating in clinical trials. Contributing to the development of
innovative Quantitative Clinical Pharmacology approaches through
effective and productive interactions within QCP as well as key
collaborators across MRL, namely Drug Metabolism, Biostatistics and
Research Decision Sciences, and appropriate Therapeutic Area clinical
disciplines.
Qualifications
* PharmD, MD, or PhD in a relevant health sciences discipline,
with in-depth medical knowledge of physiology, pharmacology, and disease
pathophysiology, as well as broad-based knowledge of QCP related areas
such as statistics, PK/PD, and systems biology
* Prior experience in a leadership role in the industry or
academics.
* Experience in quantitative clinical pharmacology is a must.
Specifically, experience and proficiency with standard QCP software
(NONMEM, SPlus, Trial Simulator or other population modeling/simulation
software) and the ability to plan, organize, and analyze
experimental/quantitative data are essential.
* Knowledge in the application of computational PK/PD modeling and
simulation tools to disease processes and pathophysiology is a plus.
* Demonstrated record of scientific scholarship and achievement. A
solid publication track record is desirable.
* Strong interpersonal skills, effective collaborative mindset
with key stakeholders within and external to QCP, as well as the ability
to function in a team environment are essential. The position requires
that candidates exhibit an ability to distill and communicate complex
computational information effectively and coherently to scientists of
diverse scientific backgrounds in a collaborative multi-disciplinary
environment.
