Hi Jian
I had Vista as an operating system for less than 2 days and that was some
weeks ago, so I can not recall *which* version of Vista I had. I don't
believe it was Ultimate though which may have contributed to the trouble I
had.
That said, I was unable to install Compaq digital visual FORTRAN (I have
Compaq visual FORTRAN version 6.6.C3, which was the last update provided by
HP). I tried installing an earlier version that I had handy (version 6.6A)
and also couldn't get that to install either. I was able to start the
installation via setup.exe but then the setup would just stop and all traces
of the program would simply disappear. I didn't try installing the older
version of Compaq FORTRAN (6.0) so maybe that would have worked. I was able
to install G77
The version of Vista I was running had some odd sort of file protection that
required manual acceptance of files being renamed or deleted via a pop up
GUI. Obviously, this caused problems when Nonmem finished a job because of
the files that are deleted at the end. I had checked and found that this
"feature" could be turned off but was also told that disabling this feature
would disable other aspects of Vista. At that point I gave up on Vista and
went back to XP.
I am sorry I cant provide more information but I was so unimpressed with the
so-called improvements in this OS that I didn't push that hard to get
everything running.
Diane

Hello, Diane,
Under Vista Ultimate on Dell D620, I installed Compaq Fortran 6.0 and
updated to 6.6c. NONMEM VI runs well and Wings also runs OK. Would you let
me know what is the deleting issue? I want to make sure I am using NONMEM VI
appropriately under Vista. Thanks.

Hi Pete
I had problems as getting Compaq digital visual FORTRAN to install and there
are some changes needed to be made to the OS (as far as I can tell) because
of Vista's issues with deleting files.
Personally I am not crazy about what I saw so am back in Windows XP

Before I get started I thought I would ask whether anyone knew of any issues
regarding running or installing NM V or VI under Windows Vista?
Thanks,
