Installation of Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista was uneventful but time
consuming (approximately two hours). No problems were encountered
running NONMEM VI with Intel Visual Fortran 10.0 installed on Windows
Vista for Business for x64-based systems on an AMD Turion dual core
processor. No problems were encountered either running PDx-Pop 3.0 on
the same system. (Earlier versions of PDx-Pop are not compatible with
Windows Vista.)
One user reported a difficulty with Windows Vista and g77 when trying to
recompile NONMEM with MAXIDS=100000:
"Having upgraded my Windows machine, I am having trouble when I attempt
to recompile NONMEM to have 100K MAXIDs. I specifically get an error
with respect to SUMGMT below when recompiling - there is just not enough
memory for that. As I understand it ( possibly incorrectly), Vista does
not allow as much memory to be available to DOS windows as previous
Microsoft OSes ( See, for example,
http://www.trnicely.net/misc/vista.html
I had no problem recompiling with MAXIDS=100000 with Intel Visual
Fortran, so this may be g77-specific with Vista.
If you have had any difficulties running NONMEM and/or PDx-Pop 3.0 under
Windows Vista, I would appreciate hearing about the issue, particulary
if you are able to send control and data files to reproduce the issue.
