Dear NMusers,
I am very new to Nonmem and Pk modeling. I have done some noncompartmental PK analysis. Recently I am trying to use Nonmem with Visual NM. I am trying to use the data from 50 patients who are treated with a daily oral dose of drug X (doses may vary during the course of treatment) and samples were colleted just before the next dose ar irregular intervals during a period of two years. I tried to organise as follows. CPX conc of drug X and CPM is metabolite conc. I am not sure this is right.

ID AMT DATE TIME ADDL EVID SS II CPX CPM AGE SEX ETH=20
1 6 11/17/95 0 0 1 1 24 . . 30 0 4=20
1 0 11/17/95 12 0 0 0 0 2.72 36.63 30 0 4=20
1 6 12/7/95 0 6 1 1 24 . . 30 0 4=20
1 0 12/7/95 12 0 0 0 0 1.68 32.77 30 0 4=20
1 6 12/28/95 0 6 1 1 24 . . 30 0 4=20
1 0 12/28/95 15 0 0 0 0 2.59 37.86 30 0 4=20
1 6 4/18/96 0 6 1 1 24 . . 30 0 4=20
1 0 4/18/96 11 0 0 0 0 7.00 37.10 30 0 4=20

It is not easy for a person unfamiliar to this subject to follow the Nonmem user guide. A book dealing with step by step modeling of data from various dosing situation will be very useful. Is there reference text book something like Nonmem for very beginners which describes step by step 1. how to organize the data set with examples of different dosing scenarios. 1. how to build the models from scratch and how to select the best model from the outputs.

Thanks
