There's a free Fortran compiler for Windows (and OS/2) on
http://www.openwatcom.org/
.
Does that work for NONMEM?

Joern,

NONMEM can be made to compile with OpenWatcom compiler but in my experience not very well.
It is slower (perhaps 50%) compared with g77 and does not converge very well on some
problems.
